2026 Hamilton Christmas Bird Count
It’s time to register for the Christmas Bird Counts (CBCs) in Hamilton!
The Hamilton CBC is held annually on December 26 (Boxing Day) and is one of the oldest in Canada at 106 years old! The Hamilton CBC covers a 12 km (7.5-mile) radius centered at Dundurn Castle. That includes your backyard bird feeders!

Late registrants will be asked to join existing groups or the ‘clean up’ crews. Each CBC must be registered for separately this year. We are using a new system provided by the Audubon to better automate CBCs across the continent. We strongly encourage the use of eBird for data submission – share your checklists with “hamiltoncbc” and make sure to still record distance travelled, size of party, and time spent!
