Wednesday April 26th evening hike to 40-Mile Creek canyon in Grimsby for early spring flowers, ferns and trees as well as migrant birds. This steep, sloping canyon has distinct microclimates due to its sheltered position and orientation: the south-facing side being warmer and the north-facing side cooler resulting in different plant communities. Leaders will be Peter Thoem and HNC Past President Bruce Mackenzie.
The trail is steep in places, rough and uneven. Good sturdy foot-wear is essential.
Please note the hike leaves at 6:01pm sharp.
