Bird Study Group: Celebrating 50 Years of Hawk Cliff Raptor Banders

Join us to hear George Prieksaitis, a 30-year member of the Hawk Cliff Raptor Banders, share a celebration of 50 years of continuous fall raptor banding operations at Hawk Cliff, Ontario.  Presentation includes a introduction about fall raptor migration in Ontario and how geography has contributed to Hawk Cliff as a significant raptor migration site, a short history of the Hawk Cliff Raptor Banders Association, techniques for catching and banding raptors, photos of typical species banded and banding results over 50 years, photos of odd and rare species encountered at Hawk Cliff, and finally, the value of raptor banding.

Doors open at 7:00 PM, presentation begins at 7:30 PM
