Bird Study Group: Nuts and Moults
Welcome to the fascinating world of passerine moult; the act of growing new feathers. Using photos taken at the Sheelah Dunn Dooley Breeding Bird Banding Station, Catherine Manschot will take attendees on a journey through different types of moults, what they look like, and most importantly, why they occur.
Catherine runs the MAPS Bird Banding station at Sheelah Dunn Dooley Nature Sanctuary, manages education and training on the Niagara Peninsula Hawkwatch Committee, volunteers as a bander at both the Long Point Bird Observatory and Hawkcliff Raptor Banding Station, and has authored “A Bander’s Guide to Ageing Eastern Passerines Using the WRP Coding System.”
Doors open at 7:00 PM, presentation begins at 7:30 PM.
