The flow of southbound, fall migrants can be observed anywhere along the north shore of Hamilton Harbour/Burlington Bay in early October. Woodland Cemetery can be especially good with its open vistas, areas of thick cover, high shoreline bluff and woodland edges.
Join Peter Thoem, Lyn Folkes, and Debbie Lindeman on this 4-hour morning hike we will make a careful and respectful exploration of the cemetery looking for small stuff: warblers, sparrows and vireos; perhaps gregarious flocks of Blue Jays and quite possibly raptors like Merlins, Sharp-shinned Hawks and Bald Eagles.
Expect to walk up to 2-3 km on level but not necessarily paved ground. Meeting location will be provided upon registration.
