Fletcher Creek in the Winter

Join Bruce MacKenzie as we visit the Fletcher Creek Ecological Preserve on Sunday Feb. 16 at 1:30 pm.

We will be following the trail, in the southern portion of this property, through different habitats leading to the only fen in the Hamilton Watershed. Hopefully, the fen will be frozen over so that we can get out onto it. The environments here are rarely found elsewhere.

Bruce has been visiting this property for 40 years. He hopes to share its secrets with you.

Dress for the weather. Depending upon weather, snowshoes may be an asset (We can always hope for lots of snow).

Parking is on Concession Rd 7, 200 m north of Gore Rd. There is a parking fee of $11.50 for folks without a Hamilton Conservation Authority Pass.
[Note: There is free parking about 400 m. north of the parking lot on the east side of the road but be extremely careful of soft shoulders and if there are deep snow banks the road may be narrow in places.]
