HNC Species Count: Anita Dutka-Buchin Nature Sanctuary

May 15 @ 9:30 am - 12:00 pm

Jen and Brittany need your help to update the biodiversity databases of several nature sanctuaries. Knowing what species are present and where they are means we can better protect them now and for future generations. With more eyes on the ground, we might even spot a few new or rare species! Now more than ever we need to come together and ensure the continued protection of these natural spaces.

Starting May 2023, join us at an organized group event for a few hours of botanizing, birding, odeing, herping, or any other ‘-ing’ that calls to you.

Please note this is not a nature outing – participants will be moving at a self-led pace and using their own knowledge to identify and record the species they find. Some people may choose to focus on a specific group (ex. birds, plants, insects) that they are most knowledgeable about. We will not be covering what species to expect or how to identify species. Participants are free to use iNaturalist to record their observations and these will be added to the appropriate property project.

Each event must have at least 5 participants registered, otherwise it will be cancelled. Directions provided upon registration. Email stewardship@hamiltonnature.org for any questions.
