Prairie Owls: Great Horned Owl management strategies in relation to species-at-risk

As a result of human interference, Great Horned Owls now pose a considerable threat to species at risk in Canada’s prairie provinces. The Royal Saskatchewan Museum together with the University of Regina collaborated to produce a study aimed to evaluate possible management strategies for this charismatic species. As lead Field Technician for the project, Helen Toner provides insights into the research process, as well as the trials and triumphs related to conducting scientific work in rural Saskatchewan.
