Chris Cheatle will lead a search for rare provincial odenates (dragonflies) at two locations in the area near Ayr. Chris is a highly knowledgeable naturalist who has led walks for the Pipits since the group began.
We will certainly see birds, butterflies and wildflowers and we hope to see Rapids Clubtail and Spatterdock Darner (which, I hope, are dragonflies).
Parking is limited at both locations so the numbers for both groups are limited.
The HNC has room for 15 attendees, and so registration is required (Pipits will sign up on their website).

Two locations will be visited, both near Ayr.
1) The first stop is near the Nith River:
– 707731 Township Rd 2, Blandford-Blenheim, ON, (https://goo.gl/maps/fQcQuLoy4xA9JcXy8)
– The road ends here and continues as a trail and we will go about 300 metres along the shore of the river in our search.
2) The second stop is 18 km. away at the Drynan Tract Regional Forest:
– 1192 Dumfries Rd, Ayr, ON (https://goo.gl/maps/PURU4SjALvd7D3kF6)
– Our search continues on established trails in this regional forest.
It’ll be an adventure!
Many thanks to Colleen, the lead Pipit, for organizing this outing!
