February Technology Walk – Red Hill Valley

The February Technology Walk will combine outdoor exploration with hands-on learning using a variety of mobile apps. The event will begin at the Rosedale Arena parking lot with a slow, 700 m walk along a paved path. During this portion of the walk, participants will learn how to use the iNaturalist, eBird, and Merlin Bird ID apps. Participants will search for existing naturalist sightings, log new observations, and learn about identification tools and other features available within the apps.

This will be followed by a medium-paced 2 km walk along the Red Hill Valley Trail, with stops taken at leisure. The terrain is mostly flat (with some steep hills) and may be snow-covered or icy in places.
