Tree Planting at Captain Cornelius Park

Join HNC staff for a community tree planting event at Captain Cornelius Park on Saturday October 18, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
Volunteers have been working on the site for several years to remove invasive shrubs like Common Buckthorn. Once the invasive shrubs have been removed we add native plants to enhance the forest understory, creating habitat for a variety of native species.
New and seasoned tree planters are welcome. Trees will be in small 1-2 gallon pots. A limited number of gloves and shovels will be available to use, please bring your own if possible.
